Triangle Internet Mailing List
The mailing list consists of a number (currently about 400) of interested Triangle brothers and pledges with e-mail addresses. e-mail sent to one central address automatically gets duplicated and sent to everyone on the mailing list. In this way, Triangles all over the world can interact in a central "community" and carry on discussions about many different topics.

Recent topics have included:

  • Top Ten Reasons for joining Triangle
  • What should the Mission of Triangle be?
  • Events at last summer's Leadership School
The traffic on the mailing list can vary quite a bit. Some days will go by with only one or two messages sent out, while other topics can provoke a flurry of fifteen or twenty messages in a twenty-four hour period.

This mailing list is not moderated, and while many of the messages are serious discussions of brotherhood and other issues concerning the fraternity, we also tolerate casual messages containing jokes and friendly banter (within reason). If you are concerned about the amount of e-mail you receive, you may want to choose option B (below).

E-mail Categories
I've structured the mailing list in order to accommodate the desires of as many people as possible regarding the amount and content of e-mail sent to the list. There are four possible options (in decreasing order of mail flow):

  1. The Mailing List
People in this category will get a copy of every piece of mail sent to the mailing list, and they'll get it as quickly as the networks allow. General chatter, including topics not directly related to Triangle, is permitted, but participants are still encouraged to exercise common sense before posting. The mailing list is the best option to fully participate in the electronic discussion with your fellow Triangles.
  2. The Digest
People in this category will get a daily digest containing selected excerpts from the previous days' messages to the mailing list. The digest will *not* include the more extraneous or frivolous comments, but will hopefully still contain messages directly relevant to Triangle and the brotherhood. Digest recipients can still send mail to the "A" mailing list.
  3. No mail, but include me on the roster
People in this category will not receive any of the e-mail messages mentioned above, but will be listed on the e-mail roster in case someone wants to reach them personally.
  4. Unlisted
People in this category will not be listed on the e-mail roster and will not receive any unsolicited e-mail. (The "unlisted phone number" option)

How to join the Triangle Internet Mailing List
Send an e-mail message to Kevin Fong ucla84 (fong@triangle.org) with your name, chapter, and year of initiation. Also indicate which e-mail category (A/B/C/D) you'd like to be placed in. If you have problems, contact Kevin Fong ucla84.

Other Triangle mailing lists
Several Triangle chapters and associations have started their own Internet mailing lists to facilitate e-mail communication between members. For more information, see the Triangle Chapter Mailing Lists page.
