Consider a career in the patent profession by Br. Dick Whale nu43
The US patent System has played a pivotal role in technological advance and economic growth. It does this by giving temporary, exclusive and transferable rights to inventors for use of their inventions. this, in turn, encourages investment in inventive efforts as a starting point for technological advance and economic growth.
Technologists are at the core of this sequence. But so are patent attorneys. The temporary period of excusivity provided by patents is the enabling element that attracts investment in inventive efforts. Without patents, there is often little protection for inventors against copiers and thieves.
The article titled "Consider a Career in the Patent Profession" is a description of the working life of a patent attorney. It recounts the steps, function and requirements of patent attorneyship, including elements and environments of practive and how to get there.
