"It was very interesting and exciting to be able to help shape the future of
the fraternity on such a large scale. It helped me greatly to understand what
was coming up in the long-term future with the plans my own chapter is making.
It is good to meet so many successful Triangles that compose Council and get
good experience in trying to help lead such a large organization. It was a great
pleasure in serving the fraternity and see how it operates on the national
level. I hope that other men take the opportunity to fill the role of active
advisor and be a part of the national organization in such a large way." --
Brian Jarman pur01, Chair, 2003-04 Active Advisory Board
The Active Advisor is an active member of Triangle Fraternity who advises National Council and helps represent the active membership at the highest level of the fraternity. His primary responsibilities are to improve and maintain communications between National Council and the active organizations. Other duties may be assigned by National Council as the need arises.
The Active Advisor attends all Council meetings and conference calls and
participates in e-mail discussions, though he does not have an official vote.
Reimbursement is provided for reasonable travel and housing costs.
Eligibility criteria for Active Advisor:
- 2.5 cumulative GPA or higher.
- Must have been a member (active or pledge) for one year prior to taking office, and must be an active in good standing for the full academic year while serving. (In other words, it's okay if he graduates in May or June of his term, but graduation does not relieve him of his duties)
- No chapter may be represented by the Active Advisor position for more than two years in a row.
The Active Advisor's term of the office begins at Triangle's National Meeting at the National Convention or Leadership School and extends until the following National Meeting a year later.
