2026 National Council Election
National Council is Triangle’s all-volunteer board of directors consisting of the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, six alumni Councilmen, one active Councilman, and the Past President. The Secretary, Treasurer, and Active Councilman positions are appointed annually. The President and Vice President are elected for one-year terms and three Councilmen are elected each year for two-year terms. Occasionally, there is a Councilman elected for one year to complete the term of a previous Councilman.

Nominated for President | Pete Satre os89
Pete Satre was initiated into the Ohio State chapter in 1989, where he went on to in serve multiple officer positions, including chapter vice-president. Upon returning to the Columbus, Ohio area in 2000, Pete served on the alumni board and as an active adviser for the Ohio State chapter. He was elected to serve on National Council in 2017. He currently serves on the Standards Committee, the Executive Committee, and the Finance Committee.
Brother Satre graduated from Ohio State, earning a B.S in Metallurgical Engineering. He was employed by Ford Motor Company in Cleveland, OH for 7 years before joining Allied Mineral Products, Inc. in Columbus in 2000. His current position is Vice President of Sales. He and his wife Maria live in Columbus, Ohio. They have 3 adult children.
Goals for Triangle:
While all aspects of Triangle Fraternity are important, the areas of focus are (1) the Triangle experience, (2) membership growth, and (3) stable finances. Staff and National Council are focused on the continued improvement of all three, each which are all very dependent on the other. Continue to work in conjunction with TEF and TBHC to leverage their resources for the benefit of the fraternity.
Nominated for Vice President | Bob Goehring is76
Bob Goehring was initiated into the Iowa State chapter in 1976, where he went on to serve multiple officer positions, including chapter president. He was elected to serve on National Council in 2020. He currently serves as chairman of the Growth Committee.
Brother Goehring graduated from Iowa State, earning a B.S in Civil Engineering in 1978 and a MSCE Co-Majoring in Structural and Geotechnical Engineering in 1981. He has been a consulting engineer in private practice for the past 44 years and holds P.E. licenses in 12 states. Bob has served in various roles at Engineering Consulting Services, LTD (ECS) including Branch Manager, Regional President, and Board member. He is currently working part time for ECS as a Chief Engineer.
Brother Goehring has extensive experience leading professional engineering societies and has served as an officer or President in several non-profit civic groups. He and his wife Lori live in Blue Ridge, Georgia. They have 2 children, one of which is also a civil engineer.
Nominated for Councilman (2 yr. term) | Kevin Fong ucla84
Kevin Fong was initiated into Triangle at the UCLA Chapter in 1984 and served as Active Organization President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer before graduating with a B.S. in Computer Science and Engineering. In 1994, he created Triangle Fraternity’s first web page and was also appointed National Historian, a position he continues to hold today. He previously served on National Council from 1997 to 2016, including 15 years as National Secretary. He received the Triangle Service Key in 2003.
Kevin hopes to use his experience and skills to serve as a knowledge resource for the Triangle family, help keep the leadership accountable to the membership, and offer illumination to chapters and members on their individual journeys. He is proud to show by his presence that Triangle welcomes and supports its members who are part of the LGBTQ community.
He lives in New York City and works as a Systems Administrator for Omnicom Health Group, a marketing and communications agency.
Nominated for Councilman (2 yr. term) | John Karish pitt70
Brother Karish graduated from the University of Pittsburgh cum laude with a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering in 1975. He went on to have a decades-long career in petroleum engineering where he held various roles at The Atlantic Richfield Company, BP, and Valaris. John’s professional expertise is in health, safety, and environment (HSE). In 2013, he was honored by the Society of Petroleum Engineers with the International Health, Safety, Security, Environment, and Social Responsibility Award to recognize his distinguished HSE contributions to global petroleum engineering. His career gave him the chance to live in several places across the globe including Alaska, the United Kingdom, and Texas – where he currently resides.
As an undergraduate, John was a founding father of the Pittsburgh chapter, and served as chapter treasurer. He has reengaged with Triangle in the last four years, serving as a volunteer Chapter Coach for the Triangle Colony at Texas A&M University. As a Chapter Coach, John has helped the Triangle founding fathers at TAMU with chapter operations, brotherhood, leadership development, and, most importantly, set an example of lifelong membership and involvement in the fraternity. He has also served as a facilitator at Triangle’s annual Leadership and Training Weekend and the biannual Herbert Scobie Leadership School.
When not volunteering for the fraternity, John serves on the Global HSE Advisory Committee for the Society of Petroleum Engineers; is a member of the International Association of Drilling Contractors; and travels the world his lovely wife, who has been incredibly supportive of his volunteerism with Triangle.
Nominated for Councilman (2 yr. term) | Tyler Moore tol09
Tyler graduated from the University of Toledo with a Bachelors of Science in Bioengineering in 2013. He spent five years working for Anheuser-Busch InBev at the Houston Brewery as a Quality Analyst overseeing the production of making beer, ranging from when grains first arrive, all the way to when pallets of beer depart the brewery. Most recently, he relocated to InBev in Richmond, VA.
Tyler was initiated into Triangle Fraternity at the Toledo Chapter in the Spring of 2009. While at the Toledo Chapter, Tyler first served as the Undergraduate Treasurer, before going on to serve as the Undergraduate President for nearly two years. During his time at the University of Toledo he spent a year with General Mills, Inc as a co-op, working in their Tostino’s plant in Wellston, Ohio. Upon graduating, Tyler joined the Toledo Alumni Board as the Membership Development Board President, before becoming the Alumni Secretary, holding that office until his nomination to National Council.
After arriving in Houston, Tyler began working with the Houston Chapter Alumni association, joined Triangle’s Council of Emerging Leaders, and then served as the CEL representative to the Triangle Education Foundation.
Tyler adamantly believes in the mission of One Triangle, and hopes to continue working with the Triangle Education Foundation and the Triangle Building & Housing Corporation to foster the success of Triangle Chapters nationwide.
Online Ballot for 2026 National Council Election
The Triangle Building & Housing Corporation’s Leadership Team is an all-volunteer board of directors, consisting of a chairman, secretary/treasurer, assistant secretary, and two directors. Members of the Fraternity also have the opportunity to elect a Director for the Triangle Building & Housing Corporation. Director terms last for five years. This year the elected Director would begin his term at National Convention. The five-year term would conclude June 30, 2031.
Nominated for Director | John K. Malmquist wis72

Brother Malmquist graduated Rose Polytechnic (now Rose-Hulman) in 1969 with a BSCE, Structural Engineering degree. He then worked with the U.S. Navy Group designing components for submarines. Returning to school at the University of Wisconsin, John joined Triangle in 1972, serving as House Manager for two years, and earned his MBA in Production Management in 1973.
Following graduation, John joined the San Francisco construction firm doing large scale projects in the U.S. and other countries including Canada, Brazil, Australia, and Papua New Guinea. Following his last overseas assignment, John left to start his own Construction Management firm building hotels for a small chain. After the sale of the chain, he began consulting with small businesses in project, employee, schedule, and finance management.
Malmquist maintained active relationships with local organizations, both civic and professional, serving as Director of AGC of Wisconsin Cub/Boy Scout units, ending as Asst. Regional Counselor Assisted Red Cross, Salvation Army, and others during fund raising activities John was asked to join Building Loan Fund in 1996, serving as Secretary and has continued his service through the formation of Triangle Building & Housing Corporation (TBHC) as Vice-Chairman. In 1987. John received the Career Achievement Award from Rose-Hulman, and in 2013, he received the Triangle Service Key Award.
He and his wife, Susan, are currently putting together a small car museum on Route 66 in Tulsa and enjoying their five kids and eight grandkids. They also love to travel whenever possible.
