UIFI: The Undergraduate Interfraternity Institute

UIFI is for any collegiate fraternity or sorority member with the desire to be a strong leader and who believes in the fraternal experience. Attendees do not have to hold a formal leadership role or specific office.

Program at a Glance

At UIFI, students learn with and from peers who belong to various organizations and councils. Through exploration of critical issues in thought-provoking activities, the program is intended to help identify the leader you want to be and where you can make the most impact in your chapter, council or community. Together you’ll define the challenges that our communities face today, and leave excited to address those challenges back on campus – all while developing skills that are useful in and out of fraternity and sorority life. Multiple UIFI sessions are scheduled throughout each spring and summer.

Program Structure

UIFI is an immersive living-learning experience. Sorority facilities at Indiana University are rented for the duration of the program, where students and facilitators move in for the week and are broken into “chapters.” Chapters consist of fraternity men and sorority women representing all different organizations and councils, and are led by two facilitators. Chapters spend the entire week with their facilitator team participating in activities, having tough but important discussions about the state of the fraternity and sorority experience, doing a service project together, and much more.
