Hopefully, you’ve heard that registration is now open for the 2018 Herbert Scobie Leadership School and everything that you need to know in order to register can be found here. But, in an effort to make your lives a little easier I share an additional post with you breaking down all of the information.

First and foremost is the date. The 2018 Herb Scobie Program is scheduled for Thursday, July 26th through Sunday, July 29th and will take place in Terre Haute, Indiana at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.  Scobie is a four-day leadership institute that will focus on introductory leadership skills that will assist you not only in your Triangle experience but beyond.

Similarly, to LTW we worked really hard this year to not only bring you top-notch programming but to try and bring it to you as affordable as possible.

Scobie costs are subsidized in two ways. 15% of the delegate registration fee is paid from the Chapter Fee that you pay annually. This covers two delegates per chapter and one per colony. This is why we strongly advise that each chapter sends two delegates, and colonies one.  The additional 85% of costs are qualified educational expenses, which can be paid from your chapter’s Chapter Endowment Funds within the Triangle Education Foundation.  Below are the registration types and how much you would pay based on each type.  If you are unsure of what registration type you would use, not to worry- a member of the fraternity staff will be reaching out via phone or email sometime this week or next to go over what funds your chapter has available and how you should register.  And you can always email me at ariel@triangle.org with any questions!

Registration Type 1: Delegates using CEF’s
$550: Total Cost
$465: Amount Covered by your CEF
$85: Covered by your Fraternity Dues
$0: Your final registration cost to attend HSLS

Registration Type 2: Delegates without CEF’s
$550: Total Cost
$85: Covered by your Fraternity Dues
$465: Your final registration cost to attend HSLS

Registration Type 3: Additional Attendees using CEF’s
$550: Total Cost
$465: Amount Covered by your CEF
$85: Your final registration cost to attend HSLS

Registration Type 4: Additional Attendees without CEF’s
$550: Total Cost
$550: Your final registration cost to attend HSLS

I know that some of you without CEF’s may be concerned with how you are going to afford registration. But not to worry!  The Triangle Education Fund has created special funding for some of your groups to help start CEF’s for your chapters.  This will not only help you with Scobie registration but will help with programs in the future as well.  Not sure if you’re eligible? The fraternity staff member that is reaching out to you will be able to tell you.

Travel: I want to make this part short and sweet. Everything you need to know about travel can be found here, just make sure you click on the travel tab.  The important pieces to note: if you are travelling more than 300 miles one-way you are eligible to fly and we can help pay for it. Just make sure you register first and then email me at ariel@triangle.org and we can go from there.

Don’t forget that a member of the Triangle team will be in touch shortly, but if you have any questions in the meantime don’t be afraid to ask!
