FALL 2021 PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
All active members, new members and alumni volunteers should have received an important email message from President John Cottage regarding returning to campus in Fall. This message and an additional message to parents can be found here: https://www.triangle.org/fall-2021-letter/. Students are asked to email their parents with the link to the message and the downloadable Parents Guide here: FavorAndCompany_ParentsGuide.

RATIFICATION OF CONVENTION LEGISLATION
This summer’s TRI-CON 2021 virtual Convention resulted in the passage of legislation that must now be ratified by chapters. The new National Education Fee (NEF) has the potential to save chapters significantly, by lowering the National Active Fee (NAF) and allowing payment of the NEF with funds from Chapter Endowment Funds within the Triangle Education Foundation. In addition, there is an update to the Ritual to revise the equipment list to address fire safety.

Ratification requires at least 2/3 member vote from 3/4 of Triangle chapters. Ballots will be sent the first week of September and chapters will have 60 days to respond, but we’re asking that you vote and submit your ballot at one of the first meetings of the term, so we can put the NAF/NEF billings in place early in the Fall. This will allow chapters to save on their operating funds during the first term. Should you have questions about voting or submitting your ballot, contact us at hq@triangle.org.

COUNCIL INSTALLATION
Also during Convention the new Council was installed. Our thanks to Brian Jarman pur04, for his service as immediate Past President. Joe Cerrato os05 will now serve in that capacity, having completed his term as President. Our new National President is John Cottage ps04 and new Vice President is Ryan Sunyak tol10. Tyler Moore tol09 and Stuart Masuda uci07 remain as Treasurer and Secretary, respectively, and we welcome new Councilman Jake Hoppert msu10 and Active Councilman Seth Pierre is19. A full list of Councilmen and bios is at https://www.triangle.org/national-leadership/national-council/. Every chapter has a Council member assigned as their Council Outreach Contact. If you need to contact your Councilman, email hq@triangle.org and we can make the connection.

2021/2022 RM FEES
Risk Management Fees were billed to chapters the first week of August and are due by September 15, 2021 to prevent cancellation of insurance. It is very important that chapters pay by the deadline. Estimates of your fees were sent via email to Active and Alumni Presidents and Treasurers on May 2. This is the same payment schedule we have used for over ten years. If you have questions about your chapter’s invoice, contact Tom Pennington (tom@triangle.org).

FALL RECRUITMENT
Thanks to a very generous alumnus, every chapter now has an assigned staff contact acting as their Growth Coach. Triangle is starting the year with the lowest number of undergraduates (less than 900) than we have seen in over a decade. We are aligning all our staff and resources to support chapter growth and have a proven program for success. Chapters should already be in contact with their Growth Coach and working with them to build a names list and action plan for Fall. For more information, contact Jim Phillips at jim@triangle.org.

GreekBill FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
Triangle and ChapterSpot are now partnering with GreekBill to provide a robust chapter financial management tool. GreekBill is a full-feature online service that helps chapters budget/forecast, bill and collect fees, and manage committee and event expenses. Hundreds of men’s and women’s chapters nationwide use the service and the average collection rate is over 90%. With the new ChapterSpot upgrade going live this month, GreekBill can be integrated with the chapter’s ChapterSpot login. They will even help file the chapter’s taxes at the end of each year. For more information, contact us at hq@triangle.org, or contact Ashley Epper at aeppler@greekbill.com.
